We’re under the influence of so many forces that are beyond our control and awareness. Those forces at play renders us sort of powerless to truly have free will. Our choices, the ones we believe ourselves to make, are highly influenced by these astral/divine/unconscious forces or energies. They color our worldview. They color our personality (actually they make up the personality) and ultimately it’s due to those unseen forces that we ‘make’ our decisions.
The question that we should ask ourselves is: how much influence do they have in our decision making process?
The path to “free” will
Free is being highlighted here because it’s not actually free as we may have been led to believe. Nothing in this reality is actually free at all. We all pay a certain price for it all. Instead of being “free” will, it takes lots of self discovery and self effort to go beyond the unseen and unconscious forces that are pulling the strings through our subconscious.
The self effort that we put in and our determination is how we build our will. It comes at a very high price, one of going beyond our unconscious forces to become truly aware through the awakening process. This is the path of enlightenment and that’s when we achieve our free will. Before that happens, we’re in the sleeping and dreaming states of consciousness. We believe ourselves to be awake and aware only due to our own ignorance. We ignore the clues. We ignore the inner guidance that’s trying to get us to realize what’s beneath the surface.
Self-discovery: the tools
There are MANY tools to use in our self-discovery process from psychological tools to mystical tools. Some of these tools include but are not limited to: MBTI, traditional talk therapy or cognitive therapy, the enneagram, numerology, cards of truth (based on the birth date) – and the list goes on. I’ve explored all of these and many more throughout the years. However, the two that I have settled in have brought the most transformation for myself as well as others that I’ve helped in the process. Those two tools are Vedic Astrology and Human Design, which has astrology as a component.
I’ve used both of the following tools together, fusing the information that can be gathered from an external perspective as a way to find inner truth. When fusing these two complex systems, we find many clues as to the best and most efficient route to align with our true nature. In so doing, we’re closer to the final destination of becoming enlightened. Being empowered with that state of awareness leads to freedom from the unseen forces.
Astrology
Astrology works as a good interpreter of those forces. A competent interpreter, the astrologer, can help discern what those hidden forces are doing beneath the surface.
The birth chart is a snapshot of the forces at play in our consciousness, those hidden forces that are essentially pulling the strings as we are mere puppets in our own drama. Hopefully the drama turns into a romcom (romantic comedy)! 😉

Birth Chart
3 ways to look at a chart:
Vedic Astrology uses the two charts above:
South or North Indian
Western Astrology uses the circle wheel.
The birth chart is the blueprint of these hidden forces within our mind and consciousness. Developing discernment (Mercury), self-effort (Mars), persistent determination (Sun), endurance (Saturn), and the ability to find joy in it all (Jupiter) greatly assists us in going beyond our blueprint and achieving true “free” will. This means that we must be consciously developing these important aspects within ourselves and through that process awaken to deeper layers of Self.
As we awaken and realize what’s truly at play beneath the surface, we get closer to enlightenment, which is a promise for all. It may be a distant journey to get to that final destination, but I believe that we will all make it “there” sooner or later.
Human Design
Human Design is another great tool to uncover the hidden forces at play and to start a process of deconditioning in order to become aligned with our true nature.

In Human Design, we use the body graph instead of the snapshot of the planets in the heavens as recorded at the moment of birth. Human Design deals more with the energetic influences at play within our own body or material chemistry. It shows both the “Personality side” of mind based on the birth chart, and the “Design side” of body based on the solar positions 88 degrees (or days) before birth. The Design side is actually the area of our unconscious forces because we’re more aware about our own personality than we are about our physical body’s intelligence.
Self-discovery leads to Enlightenment
Enlightenment being the final destination is the end of all suffering. It’s also the end of duality because at that point we figure out how the opposites relate and balance out. The point of our graduation from the earthly school of perpetual spiraling into chaos is a kind of rollercoaster ride. I believe that it’s our job to turn the chaos into whatever we choose once we achieve and exercise our ability to freely choose.
True free will becomes possible as we graduate from elementary school for some, high school for others, and college for the rest. We’re all at different levels in our collective awakening process. Some fail graduation and have to repeat the lessons so they’re graded for a longer term; but eventually, even they get bored with the endless repetition and decide to graduate by exercising their abilities to progress to a higher level – to achieve a higher level of awareness.
Sharing experiences
We grow by sharing our own experiences with others. The collective gets boosted each time we come together in our shared knowledge. The collective grows when we grow.
I’m curious to know where you are in your own awakening process. Would you say you are closer to the final destination of enlightenment? Are you aware of your growth process? What have you mastered within yourself? I invite you to share your own experience!
If you’re committed to your self-mastery process and need/want help, I invite you to reach out to me as I could be able to guide you through it.
