Anuradha Lunar Eclipse: Past Meets Future

The Lunar Eclipse is a huge reset. But what are resets used for, as we understand them? They are usually done when something isn’t working well in order to bring in a fresh new start. The reset button is only pressed once there is a need for it. It’s a good time to revive anything that has been feeling off. Devotion is the key here and it is with the help of the Ancient Ones, our Ancestors, that this reset will bring forth a new look towards a brighter future.

A lot of Ancestral energy is coming up during this rewind, review, reassessment and reset. First of all, we have Saturn (Karmic Father) in retrograde motion. Depending on where that is in your chart, you can see clearly whether it will be acting as a more positive effect or less positive impression. If you have a retrograde Saturn in the birth chart, then these retrogressions may actually feel great for you. Although the retrogressions are well known as a good time for reflection, it is also a more powerful influence since it is technically closer to the Earth. (Planets don’t actually travel backward, it is just an illusion based on the planet’s proximity to the Earth. From our view, it appears to be going backward or retrograde.)

Saturn is also in Shravana Nakshatra, which is all about deeply listening to the inner voice and what is not audibly being said. Based on the chart as a whole, that inner voice is very much connected with the Ancestral energies. I actually like to think of Shravana as a deep connection to the Higher Self, it is the voice within that is still and quiet. The best time to hear that inner Voice is when all has quieted down and the only noise is that of your breath inward and outward.

Eclipses happen when the Moon or Sun get eclipsed by Rahu (North Node) or Ketu (South Node). It isn’t the best time to make any important decisions or begin anything new since these mathematical calculations called shadowy Grahas (seizers) are involved. It’s best to wait until the influence of the confusion has passed. Ketu usually cuts things and Rahu brings delusion. The beautiful aspect about these times is that the veil is thinnest and easier to connect with the spiritual realms.

Let’s take a look at Anuradha, where both the Moon and Ketu (South Node) are located during this eclipse. Anuradha has a deep devotional component. Why? Because it is named after Radha, who deeply loved and was devoted to Krishna. More about that story can reveal deeper insights into what Anuradha symbolizes. The main point is that Ketu has deep ties to the past (ancestral) and it joins the Moon (psyche and emotions) signals a time for deep reflection into where we have been and where we would like to go. Last new moon in Krittika had a similar flavor, this time that flavor is intensified due to Ketu’s influence on the full moon.

The meaning of Anuradha is “following Radha” or “subsequent success.” It is also tied with a small flash of lightening, so it’s a good time to notice and take note of any spontaneous knowing’s or flashes of insight. It’s a very fertile time for worship, meditation, contemplation and practices of concentration (attention).

Taking note of all of the different indicators associated with our Divine Ancestors, it’s also a great time to do any ancestral healing or deep soul journey to connect with these otherworldly Higher Beings.

There are people/practitioners that say it isn’t wise to be outside during eclipses. There are many reasons for why they say and believe this. I have heard that looking at eclipses literally makes karma accelerate. Usually, what that means is that the karma that is experienced as negative will be activated.

Now I will give you my personal opinion on this.

After much contemplation, I don’t think it is up to us as practitioners/seers/sages/mystics to give out such advice as to look or not look at an eclipse. The fact is that the Law of Karma is going to be expressed regardless of whether one is ready or not. The whole point about being in this life experience is to balance out the Karma that we have incurred in the past (and future potentialities). The point is to become more and more aware, to become aware of awareness itself. Therefore, it is not up to us as guides to tell people what to do; instead, it is up to us to give out the facts and let everyone decide for themselves.

Karma will be expressed and experienced because it is Law – immutable Law of Nature. It all happens for us, with the best intention for our (collective) evolution.

Regardless of bringing in the heavier karma if being outside during an eclipse, one must be ready to live life to the fullest and to have the insights that allow for building a better experience – for others as well as for the individual self. This eclipse triggers such realizations if one is willing to go deeper into the philosophy of the myths.

Although the eclipse is happening at 4:13 am PDT (7:13 am EST) on May 26th, 2021, I take notice of the exact degree of the moon connecting with Ketu. The fact that this exact conjunction is happening in the United States during the daytime, many people will be out and about, perhaps not even taking notice of the spiritual ripeness available. (The exact degree conjunction is happening at 12:37 pm Pacific, 3:37 pm EST). There is no need to fear what being open to the energies will trigger. It’s rather more important to increase attention and elevate awareness. That in itself will be what benefits you as you engage fully in life. Being mindful is about becoming aware of awareness itself.

To recap:

  • Be aware of any flashes of insight during these days.
  • Pay attention to any dreams that may be bringing insights as to how to best move forward.
  • It’s a great time for meditation, contemplation and increasing attention or concentration.
  • Listen to the things that may not be audible.
  • Listen to your inner Voice and follow that guidance.
  • It’s a good time for any ancestral healing.
  • It’s a good time to connect with Higher Self/Ancestors.
  • Read and contemplate the story of Radha and Krishna.
  • Surrender and accept whatever comes now because it leads to later success.
  • The time for forward movement is coming, so be patient. Trust.

To see what area this is affecting you, you have to look at your birth chart. I recommend the Cosmic Insights app. (I am an affiliate, which means I would receive a small commission on any membership that funnels through my link. However, if you just want to look at your chart no membership is required.)

If you’d like guidance during this moon cycle and eclipse, you can schedule a session with me here.
